Happy wednesday bloglovers! And what better way to cleansweep the drudgery of midweek than with an eyeful of CO|TE’s fresher-than-fresh spring ’12 collection, amiright? For those who haven’t been obsessively stalking pictures from the Milan and Paris fall runways, CO|TE may not yet be a household name, but trust me – this is one you want to know. Milanese designers and co-founders Tomaso Anfossi and Francesco Ferrari met and worked on a number of other collabs, including Dsquared2. Of the brand, they say: “The designs originate from a non-stop exchange of ideas: the ever present reference is the image of a curious woman, who loves to experiment without being ordinary. Geometric shapes are the basis of each single piece and that is why the choice of fabrics are of primary importance, to maintain the desired volume, not only in the design phase of the silhouette but also when the clothes are worn.”
Their spring collection is a study in contrasts, taking ethereal helium-balloon prints and a sugared-almond palette and interjecting them with bold splashes of tangerine and olive, and enough sharp lines to put those peeps nordiques to shame. Love them even more for the fact that both designers are astoundingly young, as well as being massive spunks. While you wait with bated breath to get your hands on some come March (the clothes, that is), you can check out their website, or read a beautifully-curated interview here.
